A Bit About Us…
Umina Podiatry was established in 1985 and has been treating patients and servicing the Central Coast of NSW at our beach location since 2011. We love that we get to be a part of a local community, and that we help the population both as health professionals and by supporting local events and sporting clubs. For our team this is the community where we live, work, and raise our families and nothing is more important to us than seeing it flourish.
Our podiatrists have decades of experience as allied health professionals between them and are dedicated to giving our patients the best possible treatment. However, we believe that customer care is about more than just diagnosing and treating your pain. For us it’s about getting to know you and your family so that we can provide the best possible care throughout every stage of your life. The type of care that is not only professional but also personal.

What Can We Help With?
The short answer is if it affects your ankle, feet, or toes then chances are our experienced team can help treat your concerns and provide some much needed relief from pain and discomfort. The longer answer is…a lot! Below is a snapshot (although certainly not an exhaustive one) of the areas we can provide assistance with:
This doesn’t just mean performance injuries, although we certainly know a thing or two about getting you back on your feet; it can also be preventative treatment to help you stay in peak condition and avoid injury. Whether you’re training for an event, planning a holiday adventure, or just generally wanting to improve your performance, our podiatrists will work with you to help ensure you get there and reach your goal, without compromising your health.
Although we might try to do everything in our power to prevent is, part of living an active lifestyle is facing the risk of injury. If you’ve invested a lot of money in your health and fitness through personal training, gym memberships, team registrations and term fees then the last thing you want is to have all that go to waste and be kept on the sidelines due to an injury. On the other side of the spectrum, if you’re a parent or work a job that requires you to be on your feet, then you really can’t afford to be down any longer than you need to be. Our expert Central Coast podiatrists can advise on injury prevention, the right footwear, training load, and alternative exercises to make sure you can always find a way to safely stay active and go about your day to day life.
Skin and Nail
Podiatrists are the experts in skin and nail problems of the feet. From simple toenail care for those that can’t manage it themselves, to trauma, deformity and infection, we provide the right foot care and treatment so that you can be free from any embarrassment and feel confident in your feet once more.
As parent you always want your children to be happy and healthy. As a result, most parents take their children to the dentist every six months to help care for their teeth as they grow and encourage good oral hygiene, and it’s just as important to treat your child’s feet with the same care. Your child’s feet grow rapidly and especially in the early years, the foot bones are very soft and malleable, making them prone to injury and deformities. As allied health professionals, we see children of all ages with everything from curly toes to funny walks, and our expert podiatrists have the training and experience to identify the problems that need early intervention, over those that we can monitor over time.
Chronic disease management is a big priority for the government. This is why some people can claim a Medicare rebate for Podiatry, as part of an allied health approach. Whilst the treatment required may be straightforward, we will be carrying out a number of checks to make sure your feet are as healthy as possible. That means although sometimes it might appear like we are just cutting your toenails, at the same time we will be checking for signs of infection, episodes of trauma, reduced circulation, wounds and skin integrity, loss of sensation, and ingrowing toenails. Just as you wouldn’t miss a regular check up with your GP, it’s important to keep up regular visits with your podiatrist. Our office can provide further information on the Medicare rebate and eligibility.
As we said above, this list is far from exhaustive. If you’d like a deeper insight into the sorts of foot and ankle conditions we diagnose and treat on a regular basis read more here.
